Single plane is the way to go , I have tried a Low rise single plane Torker , High rise Torker , and a Team G , among others . If you are gonna tune it might as well get all the airflow you can

Just be careful of icing of the throttle blades when you start moving the TBI further from the manifold , TBI likes a heated plenum.
